Post-9/11 veterans seek stardom

Many veterans leave the military unsure of what their next chapter will be, some reach for the stars. This infographic looks into the number of Post 9/11 veterans who went on to be well known actors, musicians, athletes, and journalists. The Army and Navy account for the largest amount of veterans turned stars which makes perfect sense since they are the largest two branches of the U.S. military. Though there is a decent amount data in this infographic, it will continue to be updated throughout the years as more Post 9/11 veterans leave the service and start their encore careers, no pun intended.

This bar chart shows an evolving list of Post 9/11 Service Members who became famous actors, musicians, athletes, and journalists once they seperated from the U.S. Military.

Authors Note: I found my data using a few articles that U.S. Veteran Magazine posted since September 11, 2001. I wanted to highlight veterans turned well known actors, musicians, athletes, and journalists. I thought this would be a fun crossover between my normal beat of veteran news and my undergraduate degree in audio production. I used Datawrapper to create my pie charts to visualize my findings. I chose the pie chart because it is easy to see which branches produced the most famous people post military service.
